Love and War
A deeply spiritual war bride attempts to adjust to the slower pace of rural life after relocating from lively London to her new husband’s remote farm in Canada in a soulful tale of wartime relationships based on actual events and starring Anna Friel. Upon arrival at her new husband Charlie’s picturesque farm, Lily (Friel) struggles to earn the respect of Charlie’s stern, traditional-minded mother (Brenda Fricker) and deeply embittered sister (Moly Parker). Though relations are strained, the true test of what it takes to make a family emerges when Charlie returns from the war and attempts to find a peaceful common ground among the disagreeable women.
